This Teal and Natural Flax Kete Backpack is hand woven in the traditional Maori fashion.
The art of Maori kete weaving has been passed down through the generations. These days, coloured dyes are used to add another dimension, of colour and contrast.
Maori-made in Northland, New Zealand, this kete backpack (pikau) is made from naturally dried flax, with contrasting Red and Black strips. The backpack is finished off with a natural New Zealand Paua shell clasp.
These kete backpacks are lightweight and very comfortable to wear. They are also durable - I've had my kete backpack for many years. Made by an expert weaver.
Wear to markets, school, shopping, etc. Perfect to use as a shopping bag, replacing single use plastic.
